"Hmm, let’s go together." Qing Shuang said, knowing that they must unite as one to defeat their formidable enemy.

After deciding, the three agreed to head back to the Tianyuan Empire to investigate the forces behind the Blood Ghost Sect.

Early the next morning, the three left the Loose Cultivator Alliance and embarked once more on the journey to the Tianyuan Empire.

"We can start with the Imperial Palace." Mo Han suggested, "While at the Imperial Palace, we found clues about the ultimate secret of the Blood Ghost Sect, maybe we can find a breakthrough there."

"The guards at the palace are very strict. Trying to enter the Imperial Palace might not be an easy task." Qing Shuang expressed concern, fearing they might be discovered by the palace guards.

"We can find a way to sneak in." Mo Han said, already having a preliminary plan but needing to further refine it.

"Alright, let’s get to the Tianyuan Empire first." Luo Chen said, knowing that saying any more now was pointless, and they must take one step at a time.

After a few days, the three finally returned to the Tianyuan Empire. The Empire was as prosperous as ever, but the three sensed an underlying danger.

They didn’t go directly to the palace; instead, they first found an inn to stay in to formulate their plan better.

"What should we do now?" Luo Chen asked, feeling they needed a meticulous plan to enter the palace smoothly.

"We should first investigate the situation around the palace." Mo Han replied, intending to first understand the guard situation before formulating a specific action plan.

"Hmm, I agree." Qing Shuang nodded, feeling that first investigating the situation was a safer approach.

After a brief discussion, they decided to split up and investigate around the palace.

Luo Chen would observe the overall layout and guard situation of the palace, Qing Shuang would explore the streets and alleys surrounding the palace, while Mo Han would gather intelligence about the palace.

The three went their separate ways and began their investigations.

Luo Chen found a high building near the palace and observed its layout carefully, concluding that the palace guards were indeed very strict, leaving almost no blind spots.

Qing Shuang traversed the streets and alleys around the palace, discovering that the nearby residents seemed reticent about palace matters, not daring to speak lightly.

Mo Han gathered intelligence in nearby taverns and tea houses, learning of some strange happenings inside the palace, although he hadn’t yet uncovered the specifics.

After a day’s investigation, the three reconvened at the inn, sharing their findings.

"The palace’s guards are indeed very strict, simply entering the palace won’t be easy." Luo Chen shared, informing Mo Han and Qing Shuang of what he observed.

"The residents around the palace seem reticent about palace matters, which suggests that some unusual events are definitely happening inside." Qing Shuang said, letting Luo Chen and Mo Han know about what she discovered.

"I’ve gathered that some odd things have been happening inside the palace lately, but haven’t yet found out exactly what." Mo Han said, informing Luo Chen and Qing Shuang of his intelligence.

Analyzing their discoveries, they realized that the secrets of Tianyuan Empire’s palace were far more complex than they had imagined.

"What should we do now?" Luo Chen asked, feeling they needed an even more thorough plan to enter the palace successfully.

"We can’t force our way in; we must find a way to blend in." Mo Han said, already having a preliminary plan but needing further refinement.

"How to blend in?" Qing Shuang asked, feeling that without any identity, blending into the palace would be a difficult task.

"We could disguise ourselves as palace guards." Mo Han suggested, feeling it was their only feasible option at the moment.

"Disguise as guards?" Luo Chen frowned, "We don’t have guard uniforms or identities, how can we disguise?"

"We can find a way to obtain the uniforms and identities." Mo Han stated, already having a preliminary plan but needing further refinement.

"Alright, let’s first find a way to obtain the guard uniforms and identities." Luo Chen said, knowing they must take one step at a time.

They discussed again, deciding to first find a way to acquire the palace guard uniforms and identities before planning specific actions.

"Disguise as guards?" Luo Chen furrowed his brows, lightly tapping the table with his fingers, producing a "thump-thump" sound reminiscent of his chaotic thoughts, "This idea sounds unreliable; we don’t have the guards’ attires or tokens, how can we pretend?"

"There are ways to acquire the attires and tokens." Mo Han smiled confidently, his eyes glinting with slyness, "I’ve spent some time in the palace and am familiar with the layout. I know a place where we might find what we need."

"Oh? What place?" Qing Shuang showed interest, leaning forward slightly, her gaze fixed intently on Mo Han.

"Southwest corner of the palace, there’s an abandoned storeroom rarely visited." Mo Han whispered, as if fearing the walls had ears, "It contains some old guard uniforms, though slightly damaged, should be wearable after some mending. As for tokens..." he paused, a mysterious smile stretching across his lips, "we can ’borrow’ them."

"Borrow?" Luo Chen raised his brows, "How to borrow?"

"That depends on our ’acting’ skills." Mo Han winked, a meaningful smile marking his face.

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang exchanged a glance, seeing both helplessness and anticipation in each other’s eyes. They knew Mo Han often had quirky ideas that sounded unreliable but could sometimes produce unexpected results.

"Alright, let’s go with your plan." Luo Chen sighed, agreeing to Mo Han’s plan, "However, we must first create a detailed action scheme to ensure nothing goes wrong."

"Of course." Mo Han nodded, and the three gathered to discuss specific action details.

As night fell, the Tianyuan Empire’s palace enveloped in silence. Three shadows moved like phantoms, silently appearing near the abandoned storeroom in the palace’s southwest corner.

"Here we are." Mo Han pointed to the dilapidated building not far away and whispered, "Let me take a look inside first; you wait here."

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang nodded, hiding behind a large tree and vigilantly watching the surroundings.

Mo Han’s agile form swiftly approached the storeroom door. He gently pushed the partially open door, greeted by a damp odor. The storeroom was pitch black, with only a few strands of moonlight piercing through broken windows, barely revealing any outlines.

Mo Han carefully searched inside the storeroom and quickly found some worn guard uniforms. After a close inspection, he concluded that though damaged, the uniforms were complete enough to be wearable after slight mending.

"Lucky," Mo Han thought to himself, pleased, carefully storing the uniforms and ready to leave the storeroom when he suddenly heard footsteps outside, as if someone was approaching.

Startled, Mo Han quickly hid behind a pile of debris. The footsteps drew closer, finally halting at the storeroom entrance.
